A wine of prettiness and energy. The small village of Lessona makes some beautiful expressions of Nebbiolo with a few local blending grapes. The wines are typically less big and concentrated than Barolo or Barbaresco, and obscure their mid-weight fruit depth in exchange for impressively complex and detailed aromatics. Lots of high toned florals, tart cherry, rhubarb, white truffle, fresh fennel, star anise. The palate has very bright acidity and the typically high Nebbiolo tannin is there, but with tender texture. Ready to drink, can hold a few more years, but you'll be trading precious fruit for more earthy flavors.

High toned red fruit, ripe cherry, tart cranberry with herbal, licorice, earthy, mushroom and wet leaves notes in the mid followed by a what I would describe as the moment when you just stared to taste the chocolate in a cherry tootsie pop (Wife independently said inside of a strawberry pop-tart). Wine has seen some oak, probably French barrique, but it’s not distracting.
At a great spot where you still have some youthful ripe fruit notes and some earthy aged notes as well. Tannins are completely integrated, but ample acidity. The color shows some bricking and is almost clear at the edges. Would drink now as it’s in balance and delicious.

This was quite an interesting bottle, although the guest who shared this debated on its handling and provenance/possible condition. However with that said, when it was a bit too chilled and in a thinner glass (restaurant's glass availability, they don't really have much of a wine service), mostly cranberry and cherry notes on the nose. With the lack of a decanter nor time to slow ox, it took 30++ minutes in the glass before the wine started to develop more and show further complexity (of which some leather notes appeared). The wine was a bit too smooth, but still very bright mouthwatering acidity. Not a complex wine overall despite the fact, but held up to a good roast duck and proteins.

Aromatic and open-knit with pretty cherry, rose, and spice on the nose. Soft texture, juicy cherry, spice-laden finish. Early accessibility is the narrative here but there's also upside if one can wait.

4-hour decant. Beautiful, mouth-filling, medium-bodied Nebbiolo with no rough edges. Shy but refined nose. Perfect with roasted Easter lamb.

30 minute decant.
Highly aromatic nose consistent with the palate.
