The ‘95 opus one is over the hump but still phenomenal. I opened it and let it breathe for about three hours before enjoying. On the nose I immediately get menthol, anise, smokey tobacco, sweet pepper and black berry currant. On the palette, it is balanced with aoft tannins and smokiness up front with very balanced peppery and fruity finish.

Brick color throughout. Pure aromas of cherries and strawberries, and barnyard Brett complexity. What a phenomenal wine after almost 30 years. Supple and fresh, with flavors of plums, cherry cola, licorice with a velvety smooth texture. Flavor goes on for over a minute. What a wine!

Thanks to my friend Kim who put together a flight of 95,96,97,98,99 Opus and paired with several Waygu prepared by our friend Steve. Oh What a night, spectacular food paired with an amazing Vertical that will most likely not be repeated by our group. This wine however was the WOTN in my opinion. After a 2hr+ decant this wine had soft tannins and was a pleasure to enjoy I hope I get the chance to try you again sometime

Still full of Suttle flavors, good color, did not know what to expect from a almost 30 year old wine

Great wine, but a little past its prime.
