Very cloudy color, nose where the cherry clearly dominates but where earthy aromas make their way.
Very lively mouth, with a fairly high acidity but counterbalanced by a high quality juice. The cherry still dominates as much with in second line the undergrowth. There is a lot of energy in this wine which lengthens in the mouth over the tasting. Great floral finish and a nice length.
Excellent, but I clearly preferred the Barbaresco of Giacosa, their vaporous side and their complexity that I did not necessarily find on this bottle.

Aristocrat's wine dinner (My house): Double decanted then slow O'd for 6 hours. I don't usually drink a barbaresco this old. This has a soft profile with cherry on the back end, a little olive as well.

Aristocrat's Wine Dinner (Joe & Khem's Place, Mpls): Medium dark red plus color with a 7mm transition to clear margin. Splash double decanted then slow-O'd from 11am to 5:30pm and recorked until serving about 7:15pm; drank a glass over 2.5 hours. What gorgeous wine, there's a great perfume of leather, cherry, lacquer, Fall forest floor, roses and scorched earth that continues to build over the first hour. The palate is equally appealing with a medium body and and polished tannins along with pretty red fruits of tart cherry and red raspberries, leather, dried wood, tar, baked cherry cobbler, and an iron infused and gravelly finish. This has many years ahead. Outstanding! My and group WOTN.

Aristocrat's Wine Dinner at Joe's: Double decanted then sat in the open bottle from 11:30 - 5:30, then recorded and brought to the tasting, served at around 7:30. This wine was mine and the group's WOTN, and a big surprise for me, as I tend to shy away from Nebbiolo, but this was flipping fantastic! Nose showed rose petals, cherry and leather; palate was full of baked cherry, bark, leather and earth with some tobacco notes weaving through periodically. I wish I could relay more on its development in the glass, but even with a 4 oz pour, this was gone in a hurry! Easy 95+ for me, and easily the best red wine of the night!
