Overcooked plum compote and tired red fruit on the nose with a distinctive herbal note on the palate which I find every now and then in Barolos and Barbarescos of the 2014 vintage. Lacks purity and tension. Quite a disappointment. WS 93 - what a joke!

100% Nebbiolo at 300-400 m. Traditional fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless for 8-10 days. Aged 2+ years in large oak casks (from Slavonia and mid-France). 13.5% Abv.
A(ccuracy)=2: Med light brick/red. Fresh, fragrant varietal. B(alance)=2: Delicate components in subtle harmony. C(omplexity)=2: Red berries, spices, tobacco. D(epth)=1: Sinewy mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,2,2,1] = 7/10
Very similar but more expressive than the 2013 (3/24/2018).

Nice, relatively thin but decent balance considering the price point. A little young, would probably wait at least 2 more years.
