I would call this one at its prime but no reason to rush. Forward wild cherry and cranberry with mineral notes; palate is razor sharp focus with very very fine tannins still notable but provide more structure that distraction. Moderately long finish.

Red berry fruits on the nose. Aside from some sappiness, it is not showing much evolution for an 18 year old wine. Roumier ages at snail pace. Good amount of extract, it is viscous and weightless at the same time. The well integrated oak pops with grace & subtlety. Rounded mouthfeel, ripe tannins, bright acidity balancing the fruit. It finishes long. Beautiful bottle. This will reward 5-10+ more years in the cellar. I will pop my next bottle in at least three.

Mid week Burgs with Paul at Trade Kitchen (Trade Kitchen, Wellington): Lovely, ethereal perfumes, Vosne dark spices, espresso and dark florals. Very different on palate. Much more serious, structured, weighty and complex. Concentrated and dense. Black cherries, bramble, mocha, peaty soil and dark spices. Quite sleek and classy, I thought this wine was a Vosne, not a Morey. Fruit, acids and tannins in excellent balance. For drinking in the next 10+ years.

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/7/2019-3/8/2019 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Black fruit, maturing gracefully but still behind rather firm tannins. Better to cellar further.
