This was a really elegant wine with a nose full of ripe fresh pear, green fruit and tangerines, grapefruit and other sweat citrus flavours and with a slight iodine scent underlining. The palate was supple with a very round middle weight flavours similar to the nose and it had a good mouth feel before culminating in a mineral pure and balanced finish. This was one of those wines where one bottle is never enough.

Gourmet Traveller wine French Chardonnay (Winespace, Surry Hills): Herbaceous citrus, orange and mandarin, very slight butter, very slightly reductive. Juicy, a little more fleshy on the palate, tangy fruit, a little alcohol warmth, that slight butter note is here as well. More breadth. Nice.

On the denser side but I suppose that’s to be expected for Chardonnay. Solid weight and bright acidity. Classic Chablis minerality.

Outstanding crisp and fresh chablis with a lot of energy and purity. Great long finish. Steel tanked. And great price.
