Full and quite complex nose. Dark fruit, ink, gravel and liquorice. Pure and with a perfume-like depth. But loses a bit with air. More herbaceous when warming up. Green bell pepper from Cab Franc. Austere, minerally, and with medium body. Dark fruit and earth. Lacks a bit grip. Best of three old 1996 Bdx - Pessac, St Émilion, Pomerol - but not as good as the St Julien: Beychevelle.

Son's High School Graduation (Downtown Cleveland): Pop and pour. This is a bit past peak, but still drinking well. I bought this on release. Ruby/purple with slight bricking. On the nose, cherries, dried cherries, slight funk. This is moderately complex with slight layering. Cherries, earth and tobacco on the palate. Nice texture. Medium bodied. Nice finish. Drink up, but a nice showing.

nicely developed , fruit replaced by earthy flavors: hint of truffle , nevertheless lingering touch of cherry , very elegant and soft , did well with hard cheeses , drink now

Meileur que la dernière bouteille de 1995, plus de fruit, mais saveurs intéressantes

VERY NICE AFTER OPEN FOR A COUPLE HOURS. NOT FRUITY BUT NICE TRADITIONAL TOBACCO/EARTHY FLAVOR. FELT A TOUCH LONG IN THE TOOTH.
