48x 1990 (37x Bdx, 6x Napa, 5x others): From magnum. Not a winery I’m familiar with, this was easy, quaffable, fun to drink. In its prime, with nice tertiary a notes and a melted structure as the highlights. 92/93 pts.
TN: Quite undefined nose, some crushed rocks, faint hints of tobacco. All quite soft and without intensity or precision. On the palate this shows a superb freshness, good tension, slightly coarse tannins, fine creaminess, superb balance. Not so deep but with a beautifull sweetness and a nice tertiary, with some additions of herbs and stones and a nice, fruit-driven finish infused with tobacco notes.
Decanting: Quick double decant roughly 4 hours before the tasting which was enough.

Sweet berries on the nose, on the palate smoke, tar, liquorice and herbs wrapped in a sweet package, hints of pine cones, lowish acidity, fairly nice still but a tad soft and gradually going downhill, would have worked better as a standalone bottle, now this one was overshadowed by the the rivals in the tasting (Chateau Certan, Clinet, La Fleur de Gay, La Croix de Gay).

Good solid red color, with light bricking at the edge of the glass. Slightly herbal nose but also packing a healthy dose of fruit still. In the mouth, fully resolved, with good cassis, cedar, herbal, and black cherry notes, mixing with dried flowers and earth. Smooth palate. Just a nice, refined Bordeaux at peak maturity but not yet at full stretch. A-

Tasted at Clo:
Everything that the 1998 La Fleur Petrus was, only toned down. Overall, a really nice experience and the wine seems to have plenty of time left.
