Dinner at Iki Ramen (Iki Ramen, Los Angeles CA): This has really developed beautifully in the last few years as it has really taken on an expressive side that is stopping me in my tracks. There is so much depth and poise with flowing tones of gun flint, pears, apples, red berries, nectarines, raspberries, red florwers, yellow flowers, vanilla beans, herbs, and warm dough notes. The Medium bodied feel shows off the depth and balance of the nose with sharp, high acidity. The acidity does have some cut, but it isn't too overpowering and really shows off a mouthwatering quality. When I had this in 2019, I could see the possibilities of where this could head. 3 1/2 years later, those possibilities are revealing themselves and I'm deeply enjoying where it has gone so far. I wish I had some bottles on hand to follow even further, but this is a wonderful and unique expression of Meunier that I deeply enjoy.

M&PD tasting dinner at Vendemmia. Drank next to a 2010 Dom which was clearly superior imo. The Laval was yeasty in the mouth which gave the wine a nice creamy sensation. However, at the same time, it was quite tart resembling green apple or unripe strawberry. It was also very citric on the palate. This all calmed down after maybe 30 mins but it was still there.

M&PD Tasting: France (Seattle, WA, USA): 2018-10-17 disgorged. 100% Pinot Meunier. Crazy wine. Strong apple cider notes at first, this integrates and moves to the background and yields a palate with intense red fruit, sour, almost fermented (in a sauerkraut way) personality. Hints of resin. Insanely complex. Not an easy wine but certainly a fascinating one!

Un style droit, acidité bien présente, c’est serré et peu expensif, fait un peu nature, bien.
