Probably the single best burgundy of my life. When planing our trip down south, I was looking for a lunch stop between Burgundy and Lyon and found a nice place where I stumbled across this wine on the list for a lot of money but still a fraction of the market value, so I took the risk and was rewarded. I tasted the wine over several days (the restaurant happily provided the cork and a bag, no smashing bottles like DRC's lately). Day 1: The first glas after opening was already a revelation. Bouquet of primary red fruits, mainly raspberries and interesting spring flowers. With time some blood-orange zest joined the flavour profile. The palate brought utterly refined tannins, which made this wine already quiet approachable. Day 2: Needed some time in the glass to open up, but than exploded with forest strawberries, sour cherries and some ultimate chocolate (not to dark, around 65% cocoa). Hard to accept, that those moments are rare, but I understand why the world is hunting down some of those wines.
