Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 94 points

  • Big fruity, young California cab. Rich purple color, almost opaque. Rich nose of tobacco, cherry, blackberry, alcohol evident. Explosive flavors - fruit, earth, maybe a hint of clove. Well rounded tannins and a super long finish. High score if you like this style - tonight I do

  • Wow. This is a youngster that really packs a beautiful punch. Violets above the glass, dark cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, mocha, dusty earth, high acidity acidity, high tannins. and a very long finish. Amazing. Have 2 more, and will try the next one in a few years. This one is built to last and will only get much better. Life and wine are good!

  • This wine was great, although maybe a couple more years in bottle it would still improve, but still excellent. We decanted for 90 minutes and drank over about an hour with a few people Terrific nose of berry and dark fruit and earth. The wine is more fruit with subtle tannins, with chocolate, earth, and a lot of structure A long complex finish, that lingered so you wanted another taste to keep the mouth feel going.

We all know 2017 wasn’t a great year, but this is a really nice wine that is only getting better.

  • Very reminiscent of classified Bordeaux, just a tad less austere. Graphite, dark berries, chocolate, and something herbal. Full bodied with beautifully integrated tannins even at this youthful stage. Tasted from both Zalto Bordeaux and Zalto Burgundy (sacrilege?) and discovered something new in each. 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. Will likely get better, but why wait?
