  • I’ve been sampling the same bottle by coravin over a couple months. It seems to have held up very well and opened up slightly.

Nose of white flowers on the front end, then black cherry, and finally desiccated brush with moderate heat. Translucent ruby hue. The palate is balanced with a red cherry and plum core, hints of rose and pine, moderate acidity, medium plus tannins with a ~120 grit texture. The hot vintage is evident and if you’re strongly averse to alcohol (15%) this is not for you, but overall it strikes a decent balance and is enjoyable but not for the long haul.

  • Pnp. Soft nose of black cherry, licorice, dry sagebrush, iris, slight tartness, slight heat. Medium plus body, red cherry, cranberry with some tartness, rose. Medium plus acid, prominent mouth-coating coarse tannins. Solid bottle, needs at least 5 years for the tannins to soften.
