A nose of black cherry and some spice, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with blackberry, raspberry, licorice and spice on a bit uneven finish. www.winelx.com

≈50 min decant into a plastic, cylindrical pitcher which was then closed; NO visible sediment.
N: Bright cherries, earth, flowers, perhaps a BIT of dill seed?
P: Med body; Very NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker & stays in contact with the init frt as it fairly seamlessly transitions into a LONG, BALANCED finish with a TANGY/bitter/SWT trialectic to the gently firming tannins. Went well with the night's Spaghetti/Marinara, even better with the CHX Parmesan [both from the Spaghetti Factory], the Stuffed Pizza/Marinara (Chicago Style) also being a nice pairingl! Drinking QUITE well right now with decanting, & should hold through '23, poss longer. My EXC-/EXC (90-93/100 using that paradigm), trending towards the higher, particularly as it was enjoyed by ALL 5 of us who tried it. 🙂 Would that > CA Zins were made in SUCH a BALANCED, food friendly style!

Another solid wine from Runquist. Although their "Z" Massoni Ranch zin is not my favorite Runquist offering, it's still a well made zin. Aroma of sweet raspberry and black plum. On the palate, it's mid weight with tart cherry and some strawberry, definitely classic zin. I didn't get any sweetness as another poster commented, it could have been that specific bottle. The finish was mid weight as well. Easy to drink zin. Nothing ground breaking like a Bedrock or Carlisle zin, but for the price, it's a great value.
