Wine is past its prime or stored improperly prior to storage. The color pours a cranberry juice color with medium viscosity. There are thin legs clinging to the edges. Not much bricking surprisingly. On the nose is the easily identifiable scent of cherries, black currants, leather and green peppercorns. It is worth noting that the wine smelled rather green and sour as well. On the palate, the wine manifests itself in cherries, plums and tobacco with astringent tannins. There is also a certain umami flavor to the wine pitched against the backdrop of a thin body. Screeching acidity brings the wine to a halt. Not too sexy of a wine and there is definitely a better way to spend my 50 bucks.

Georgeous nose of sweet cassis, showing great promise, but strange saline sensation in the mouth. Odd metallic and astringent green flavours as well. The palate just doesn't jive with the nose.

Be careful of this one...very close to not being drinkable...certainly not as a first bottle.
