Aromas of tobacco, cigar box, earth, some floral, faint red berries, and graphite.
In the mouth, it shows a slightly creamy texture, and flavors of red cherry, black cherry, cassis, red raspberry, and faint strawberry plus pomegranate. Some earth and mineral flavors develop mid-palate and follow through onto the medium to long finish when more red fruit mixes in. Light on its feet, but still quite energetic and lively for 17 years and with good depth/structure. The astringent tannin apparent in my last bottle in 2018 has integrated for the most part and this is a much better experience, delicious.
Certainly ready now, this bottle would have easily held through 2026. Good showing for the weak vintage

Wow do I generally love Beringer's single vineyard cabernets. They are the basis of the Beringer private reserve Cabernet's. This one was good and filled with a smokey character of blackberry & licorice. Balanced and drinking really well tonight.

From memory, black and red fruits with strong astringent tannins and spicy oak. Tastes a bit out of balance, needs more time to hopefully come together. A little disappointing, but decent nonetheless. Drink with a charred steak now and decanting, otherwise hold until 2021+.

Nose shows blackberry, cedar, duck liver. Palate is fruit driven, silky, perfumed with blueberry, so balanced. Another 10 years to go.
