{Bought on release, PnP consumed over an evening} Mostly red tart cherry notes, ripe Pinot dominant, took several hours for this muscular, big, long-palate, quite enjoyable wine to demonstrate its Chambolle nature. Good balance and no brettanomyces (as found in Neal Martin's tasting note). Big fruit, ripe 2018 style, yet hangs on to its inner balance, and the perfume of Chambolle does come out with time. Lots of extract, a bit of a surprise given Gros' usual lighter style Vosne-Romanee offerings. Can be drunk now but I will hold on to some of my remaining 5 bottles for up to a decade. (This wine could be a gateway drug for misguided Bordeaux enthusiasts who need this kind of big fruit, and palate-coating tannins ...). May have some upside potential with a few more years.

Mint, bramble, red cherry, good depth and length. Crashed the party at a tasting of Australian pinots. Relative score to the Australian wines would be 92, but moderating it slightly and scoring it in a Burg context.

A bit young, should rest for some more years to balance and develop. A decent CM nothing more
