At first I thought it was shit. Lez'be honest. But I gave it some time. And I think now we've come to an agreement and can coexist. It's definitely past it's prime (well so am I, that's why I get the Botox), but with a little decanting, it's alright. The dank on the nose is perfection - that was the case right out of the bottle and has remained throughout aeration. The palate, uh, well, I don't want to try and describe it because it's still changing. But I will say that it's thinner than expected I guess.

Decanted a few hours. Noticed a touch of secondary fermentation on opening, non-issue it seemed. Quite soft at this point but still displays red fruit, with tobacco, graphite, and touches of espresso; palate particularly and clearly showed strawberries alongside yogurt.
Muted grainy tannins remain, and acid enough to make the fruit lush. Can be enjoyed on its own or with food. At $55 USD and 35 years of age this is a solid QPR.
Good, drink now before it fades too far away (2017)
