Bought two bottles at the winery (whilst staying at the hotel) sparked by the three glasses in Gambero Rosso. Drank the first bottle in 2008, which was rather mute and one dimensional and without great length. Reviews below were lukewarm, so I did not really know what to expect. Decided to give my second bottle 1.5 hours in the decanter. Man this is great! Such an improvement. Layers and layers in the nose: roses, cinnamon, viol, truffles and a hint of menthol. Tannins are nicely softened after 15 years in the cellar. Nice fruit, not dusty at all. Extremely complex wine. Burgundian acidity, nice length, very elegant. Hyper traditional Barolo, without being oxidized at all. Great Barolo need time in the cellar. I wish I had bought more! 93 - 94.

Still very shy on nose, however, fruity and elegant on the palate. But, lacked the complexity and concentration of the best examples. A great food accompaniment, but lacking length and the potential of Barolo. Cheers!

Dinner at Robuchon in Vegas. Pop and pour over 5 hours. Nice open nose, fragrance of light fruit and cherries. A nice medium-bodied wine with soft finish. Tannins did not obscure the wine. No heat. Nice but not the most memorable part of dinner.

While not a blockbuster, the wine drank very nicely. Intact fruit, balanced and a soft finish.
