A few years past the zenith but still gorgeous butter croissant on the nose and a rice / starch note on the palate, supported by a remnant of acidity. The most alluring parts for me are the fresh fruity and empyreumatic aromas and the balanced warmth of starch and wood. A very wide, warm wine. Who cares about scores at this point?

Showing incredibly well these days. This is a lithe, oaky Sauvignon Blanc of the top Bordeaux ilk, and shows all the glories of that style. For me, this is one of the few regions that can pull this off, as most whites seem better without the new oak. Outstanding.

Spicy preserved lemons, quince and apricot, waxy lanolin, saffron, tropical flowers, vanilla and marzipan. Dense structure, lovely acidity and minerality in the finish. In its prime!

Bourbon & vanilla cake on the nose, with all its depth and richness.
On the palate, liqueur wood and creamy bitterness, closing with a fascinatingly organic acidity.

Not much to say other than this wine is too old. It is a sleeping beauty that will not wake up anymore. It’s the twinkling remnant of a dead star.
I won’t rate this one so as to not disturb the score average.
