Revisited this wine last week with sautéed king prawns, then salmon with pasta. All the Coche-Dury hallmarks were there: the regal sensations, the depth and the butteriness with a hint of caramel? But somehow the wine seemed disjointed and unharmonious this evening. In my view: at this price price point, the Leflaive Bourgogne '18 is a better bet.

Objectively the best Bourgogne Blanc I’ve ever had. It has a beautiful purity, river stone, some light ginger, hint of white peach. The alcohol peeks out a little but it’s a lovely example of the 18 vintage, one that has grown on me for its amicable charm.
But, it is only a bourgogne Blanc, and while blind I might confuse it for a village Meursault from a good producer, this wine can’t be worth half of what it auctions for. Not a disappointment, but educational.

Very solid white burg, with great balance and bright acidity. If this was under $100, I'd be a buyer all day long, but at the current market price, I can't imagine ever buying a bottle again considering how many much cheaper white's there are out there these days.

Acker "Paulee" Burgundy Dinner (Capital Seafood - Beverly Hills CA): Paulée style dinner. Large scaled for its level,on the tart side. Better to cellar further.

La Fête du Champagne Gala (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Small gala glass. Rich baled apple. Voluptuous and sexy textures with powerful flavors. Not perfectly balance now, but complex and intriguing. Better to cellar.
