A blast of bright citrus with orchard fruit, flowers, fresh herb, and a little mineral and petroleum behind. This has that classic high acid intensity on a light frame that makes the Mosel so special but which is harder to find in recent warm vintages. There’s a good amount of RS here but it already feels pretty balanced. This is my sort of Riesling and it’s already totally delicious, with time as it develops more mineral character it’s going to be even better. I got eight bottles of this but may go back for more because it’s going to be hard to wait 5+ years on the rest like I know I should. ~8/10

AP7 might be slightly fuller than AP6, but only very slightly indeed. Very elegant spätlese, more on the minerals than the sugar, fine acidity, citrus notes - very young, of course, but approachable. #PensionDanmark

Such a lovely wine. Beautiful nose, a crystal clear and playful Spätlese. The wine is off-dry, the sweetness quite moderate. PQR is really good. I preferred AP6 over AP7. 2019 is the last vintage of the Merkelbach brothers. Thanks god I have been there in February 2020 for a personal tasting.
