  • Pale gold color. Med(+) developing aromas of white peach, ripe pear, rose petal, mango, muscat, almond. Ddy, med(+) body, med(-) acidity, med alcohol, long finish. Texture is oily and acidity isn’t very high, but slight bitter finish make this wine balanced with intense fruit aromas. Very aromatic but it comes with tree and tropical fruits too. Drink very soon or wait 10 years.

Day2: aromatics diefonitely faded and finish got shorter. This wine should be drink on day 1. That said, it’s still tasty.

For pairing, almost perfect with vegetable samosa, the texture of mashy vegetable and flavour of cumin were perfect match, but it didn’t go very well with Roghan Josh - the problem seems like chili heat and tomato acidity.

Also paired very well with TJ pork siu mai - fat, flavour intensity and lack of acidity make this dish go well with the wines. Also fantastic with French onion soup given its flavour type/intensity from onion/cheese and the amount of fat from cheese.

  • Has really benefited from a year in bottle, filling out and integrating the fruit, acidity and wood. Intense fruit, taut acidic structure, a hint of tropical opulence... great Condrieu. Despite the vintage, this wine was focused and made a good match for salmon en croute.

  • Good, but (contrary to vintage prejudice) the 2018 I had this time last year seemed a lot more energetic and, frankly, interesting. Rather pinched and dominated by lime-tinged acidity at first, then showed more Condrieu typicity with warmth and air. Slightly sickly, musky, honeysuckled nose, relatively tropical on the palate, with some zippy acidity on the mid-palate and a curiously savoury nose (Marmite?!) that I think might be wood influence. Have two more and will hope for improvement.
