Monthly Tasting Group: Rhones (Noyes and Cutler, St. Paul, MN): Plae gold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Unmistakably Condrieu, tropical nose and palate, florals, exotic orange, passion fruit, ripe nectarine, very minerally, maybe a bit rounder and a touch oily. 91+pts.

This is a really nice wine and just what I want in a Rhone Viognier. Pale yellow in color, medium strong nose. Subtle notes of honeycomb, ginger, white peach and a bit of apricot. I did not appreciate any tropicals (which I think of as more New World Viognier). Mild acidity -- wish it had just a touch more. Comes off just a touch flat, which is what I think of many Northern Rhone whites that are not top of their class, but still overall very impressive. Drank with a six people over mixed courses of dinner and 5 other bottles of wine of all types. This was one of the two standouts of the night, and just because there isn't that much Old World Viognier out there, that makes this the winner. Would love to drink more of it.

Light, peachy. Not complex but good structure.
