Notes from PNP. Black in the glass. Black Raspberry, garrigue, fig, sweet tobacco on nose. Palate had medium+ body, medium acidity and low tannins. On palate, flavor profile more blue/black fruits given young age of wine. Great sweet / savory combination and will definitely buy again. 93-94 range.

- Ruby color with slow forming legs and aromas of cherry, raspberry and tea. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry and black pepper with a full body. Smooth texture with a long finish - Decanted 90 minutes, big wine that started off very tight. Dark fruit and spicy nose. A young wine that shows good fruit mid palette and long spicy tannins that linger. This wine can age.

Had a chop and some black trumpet mushrooms in the refrigerator and decided to open something for a note rather than dig deep in the wine fridge after 10 hours in the store. (Opened 3 hours before drinking. Served just above cellar temp.) The robe is boasts a dark ruby hue. The nose is pretty and features ripe strawberry fruit, violet, leather, anise, and a bit of garrigue. Things are ripe, but nothing overbearing, roasted, or blowsy. The palate is juicy, but shows real verve with ripe Grenache fruit, underlain by a fine-grained earth core and a flush of savory garrigue/game notes on the the long, spicy, incisive finish. There are somewhat prominent, but by no means coarse tannins and there is a satisfying tang—presumably from the Syrah—that adds lift and dimension to offset the generous fruit and sweet floral character to the wine. And the structure and fine balance make this sparkle with the veal chop and black trumpet mushrooms, as well as the wedges of Berkswell and Mimoulette to follow. Sensational stuff and really a wine deserving space in the Cave. Good with air, but I think 5-7 years and well beyond is sensible and I’d tend to err on the latter.

Brooding, tannic. Didn’t give it adequate time in the bottle to shine. Recommend holding for a few more years minimum.
