  • Youthful, tasty but not long long lingering, nice but not memorable

  • Drank to early? Who would have thought at 13 years of age? Very primary to the point of being surprisingly fruity and dare I say simple when considering the pedigree of the house. Lots of light red fruits and cherry; very pure and uncomplicated. Promises so much for the future. From 2015+.

  • This was my 1st Yarra Yering Shiraz, since I tasted the 98 #1 sometimes back I thought to give this one a try. The colour of the wine is a lot lighter than I expected ruby red, nose of raspberry, blackcurrent, blueberry and hint of spice. The palate is rich with red fruits and medium body and long finished. Quite a good wine but this is not a wine that I would be associate with the typical rhone style. Where's the bloody, meaty taste..... seriously this is quite similar with the #1 I tasted sometime back. I wonder would I pick the difference if I was serve blind?

  • So many times you open a bottle too early or too late, it is always a wonderful experience when you feel like you hit a wine at its peak. This was just a gorgeous bottle - perfect example of what Australia can be at its best. Beautiful nose of cranberries, spruce, leather and earth (both warm and cool earth at the same time, like a sun dappled field). Gorgeous texture, just pure velvet that envelops your palate but with the acidic strucutre to keep it from ever even approaching cloying. Nice coffee, earth and leather on the palate as supporting notes to explosions of brilliant red fruit - raspberry and sweet cranberry. As it opened up, the nose picked up more spice and peppery notes, but the palate stayed remarkably consistent. One of the best bottles of wine I have had this year, and was accompanied by a great meal at The Girl and The Fig in Sonoma.
