Tasted at winery in Yarra Valley. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby with slight hints of edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of violets, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, and spice. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin is soft and integrated, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, 13.5% abv with flavors of dark fruit, spice, and bramble with a medium+ finish. Drinking wonderfully today - can drink now or over next 2-4 years.

Yarra, Mornington, Geelong wine tour day two (Yarra Valley): Ooh, reductive red berry fruit - here is the raspberry compote that Phil observed for me - dusty baking spice, very slight alcohol prickle, caramel. Juicy, fleshy, raspberry compote with brambly blackberry fruit, softly textured grip persists long in support of the fruit. Based on my previous tastings of this wine I'm surprised how much I like this.

Yarra, Mornington, Geelong wine tour day two (Yarra Valley): 2nd bottle today - after our experience at the tasting room we picked a bottle up to take home. Plums, raspberry compote, cream, sweet spice, a little peppery prickle as Fizz observed. In the mouth it's juicy, red hued and plummy black fruit, plenty of talc textured tannins persist long supporting so much better than when I first tried this at the Qantas tasting all those years ago.

Screwcap. Decanted 2 hours. Mid-garnet. Fine nose of purple and black fruits and violets. Medium bodied at most. Seamless and well balanced. Some black pepper comes through on the medium finish. Drinks well, but could easily hold longer.
