French but no Burgundy/Bordeaux theme: Brought for a friend. Slightly natty and not as Burgundian as my previous bottle, but still had the serious mid-palate weight and finish.

Wow. I hunted far and wide to secure two bottles of this and shared/tried the first with a big group of friends. It fully lived up to expectations and was a highlight amongst our 17 bottles on the night. Full of flavor yet flowery and light on its feet. A beautiful Chardonnay worth the price and search.

This was fantastic and everything I would want in a Chardonnay. Similar to the 19 we had just before it, but more intense and powerful. I loved the energy, minerality and complexity. I’d love to try this periodically over the next twenty years.

Mainly good white Burgs: Brought this as a ringer that no one managed to spot, but someone impressively managed to suspect that it might have been a Jura. Evolved quite rapidly after opening - it was pale yellow and had the typical Tissot reduction at first but grew more honeyed with air. The colour became golden quite quickly and the exotic fruits became more obvious. Still very impressive though, had the mineral fruit similar to the entry-level but amplified in terms of intensity. First time trying his top cuvee and wasn't out of place in the white Burgundy line-up.

Pale gold color. Nose immediately reminiscent of a top Bourgogne Chardonnay. Dried white flowers, lemonade, ripe quince, pear, dried mandarin, wet stone, sweet oak spices, dill hint of honey and grilled nuts. Dense and lifting on palate with some saline note and sharp acidity to balance it’s intensity. Still youthful, long way to do. A great and rare Chardonnay. Could never sense the 15.5% abv. So elegant.
