Champagne, Red Burgundy and Riesling - Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): I was informed that this is 100% Pinot Meunier. Very Ceric Bouchard like vinous nose displaying subtle yellow and red fruit, apple, peach and raspberry soda, marzipan, sweet spices and limestone. Beautifully integrated palate, finely layered subtle yellow fruit, very fine shy mousse, elegant and polished, medium acidity, fine mineral, and a medium to long subtle yellow fruit driven nutty finish. It really reminds me of a BdN Cedric Bouchard. This is a very user-friendly stylized wine.

Our Annual Champagne Tasting: My bottle. The first wine of the Pinot Meunier flight, and a good start. Citrus, but lots of peach and white floral notes, mineraled. I liked this. Franc de Pied Meunier from Merfy; disgorged May '21 with 3 gm dosage. Vinified in oak barrels

Disgorged March 2021, 2016 base. 4g dosage. Ungrafted vines and 100% Pinot Meunier. It is glorious. Some red and yellow fruits notes trying to pierce through the most inviting yeasty delivery. Brioche galore afterwards. Being in the kitchen as a child with your loving mother or grandmother. Then as the nose gives way and the palate makes its presence felt this is perfectly ripe apricot gummy fruit with acidity kicking in to provide lift on the finish. It is rhubarb tart after the brioche!! Masterful Meunier. My only interrogation is whether aging can bring anything more. Youthful exuberance seems to be central to the package here.

Served this to a group of House only drinkers. They were seriously impressed by the vinosity and aromatic expressiveness around red apples, oak spice, cinnamon. Great bottle, consistent to my last TN.
