  • Found a few dusty bottles in a corner of my local wine shop, I'll be going back to buy out whatever they have left. Opened two hours before tasting. Vibrant dark purple in the glass, plenty of life in it. Nose of plum, leather, black pepper. A little red fruit up front giving way to caramelly black fruit, pine, and spice on the palate. Long finish, still some rustic tannins, very good structure. Dead ringer for a Brunello for significantly less money. One of those food-friendly wines that effortlessly flatters three courses of food as it breathes and changes. Easily one of the best bottles I've tried this year, drink now.
