The 2017 Petresco is all potential. Tight and tannic, it only begins to reveal its bright red, elegant fruit after 3+ hours in the decanter. Try again in 5-10 years, drink through 2040+.

'16 & '17 petresco over 2 nights.
'16 was juicy and fruity, sweet and ripe.
'17 was restrained, muted, and darker.
both good, but i'd give the edge to '16 right now. however, i wouldn't be surprised if the '17 showed better after a few years.

a little young, firm acidity, excellent when decanted 3 hrs ahead of a tomato based sauce, really great aromatics after waiting also. Best after 2024.
