Well past its prime. Bottle was delivered by Columbia Crest right before CoVID and was in my cellar and had been overlooked. The bottle was completely stopped up with sediment, but once filtered into a decanter was drinkable. Had a very soft nose, but there were hints of dark fruit and leather. Palate was nice, but had lost most of the complexity (assuming it was once there) with some light jammy notes and very smooth, light tannins. Probably would have been much better 5 years ago or so.

Cork is degrading quickly. First 5 minutes open offers some really funky smells, in a good way. After about 30 minutes this mellows out into a nice mature cab. Oak is present but not dominant, not flabby. Overall pretty pleased.

Bought 3 bottles of this way back in the Summer of 2008, drank the first two within a year and sat on this one (passive cellar in the basement) until this evening. Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, chocolate, toffee, lavender, and dark fruit - black raspberry and blueberry. My notes from 2008-9 indicated a strong oak presence which has definitely integrated quite well 8 years on. Palate: Medium-full bodied, surprisingly youthful showing a spicy dark fruit attack with enough acid to maintain balance, good persistence through the mid-palate, with leather and tobacco notes in the back-end. Finish: Medium length dominated by spicy dark fruit, tobacco, and earthiness. The years have been amazingly kind to this mid-level Washington cabernet, hard to imagine this getting any better though.
Wonderful on open, but losing steam on Day 2. Nose was great with complex and powerful mix of blackberry, stewed plum, buttered popcorn, cocoa, vanilla, and gravel. Silky smooth and rich when tasted. Fully integrated with a medium body. On day 2, it lost some body and became more astringent. In a good place now, but unlikely to improve. Maybe a few solid years left, but drink it all in one sitting. www.vincrush.com

Buttered popcorn all over the nose and palate that lasted for close to three and a half hours before it faded away and the wine took a sharp nosedive into astringency. Up until that point the wine was an easy drinker. Medium bodied, deep magenta colored with a very slight orange tint coming through, medium+ acid and moderate tannins. Plenty of plummy and black fruit up front to go along with the buttered popcorn notes. Medium finish. Drinking well right now.
