  • Only fools could ignore the greatness of this wine. I have had every bottle ever released. Everything it is showing now is only a tiny fraction of it's genius. BEHOLD!

  • This was singing pretty soon after opening; fresh red berry fruits with some hints of salumi and earth; violet and floral notes emerging with air; a hint of orange peel; lovely balance on the palate with a juicy red berry sensation alongside some more sanguine sensations. Good stuff and one of the better young Clos Electriques I've had.

  • Notes from day 2.
N red fruit, floral, forest floor, funk
P red cherry, strawberry, citrus peel, forest loam, spice
F long in length, nice mouthfeel, acid, and tannin
Overall a great bottle of wine.

  • PnP notes: Medium garnet color. Nose is quite earthy and savory with a mineral backbone; with some more air getting more red berry notes and some meaty notes. Palate is incredibly lively with vibrant juicy darker cherry, black raspberry, plum skin, cured meats, finishing with more mineral and iron (latter notes were more in the early glass). Quite pleasing to drink.

Update: Stored in the fridge and didn't have any on night 2, but this really pops on night 3. Just seamlessly integrated and beautiful on the palate. Incredible depth of fruit purity for 12.2%. Had it at a 92 on night 1 but probably a conservative 94 night 3. Bottles like this are why I enjoy wine.

  • A very enjoyable wine over two nights. Needed about 10 minutes of air prior to drinking. Good red color. Bright and crisp red flavors mostly - think cherries and watermelon; and then a bit of blueberry and balsamic, providing some deeper support, but not dominate. Some wood spices too - a cross between nutmeg and allspice - add another dimension. Enjoyable now and for the next five to seven years is my best guess.

(Served with a chestnut and mushroom ragu in a light Madeira cream sauce over sliced baked polenta. Very autumnal and very good. Also vegetarian.)
