Very high fill perhaps contributes to better-than-expected taste, decanted half. Less red fruit-driven than modern era Mugnier, more old-schooled, still great and elegant. Some plum and spice underneath earthy and meaty notes, lightly dusty but not at all dirty. Impressive length that is mellow, continuous, evolving, and quintessentially Musigny. 94-95

Brett and VA present at open, obscuring the aromatics, but the palate was silky smooth as fitting for this terroir. After 2 hours in decanter the VA and most of the brett blew off and classical Musigny notes began to appear which made it considerably more enjoyable. Felt over the hill, drink now.

Floral perfumed Musigny nose. Delicate on palate, especially for a 95. Graceful, a fine bottle.
