Elegance personified. Not a big Musigny, but so ethereal and one with latent power. Fruits vacillate between red and blue. There is a hint of earth and a scent of violets. It has fine detail and a cool, stony base. It builds through the palate and fans out and leaves a highly perfumed calling card. Great balance and fabulous minerally acidity.

It's always such a treat to try such legendary wines. This was slightly hazy, light ruby to garnet in colour. More masculine than the Comtes Vogue Musigny drank alongside. This came across as a lean vintage which suits the palate of many of those we drank with. Green herbaceous notes. Whole bunch perhaps? Slightly corked? Lots of green tea. VO birthday

Red Burgundies With Allen Meadows (Eleven Madison Park): Quite different than others, gamey meats, cooking spices, drying cherry and raspberry fruit. Fairly spicy, but more like ketchup, savory and advancing. better on the palate with plenty of secondary dried berry flavor and pleasant tannins providing good support. Hmm... not moved by this, farther along than it should be.

Incredible. So fragrant, fresh and vibrant with an exceptional finish.
Drank side by side with an 83' Cheval Blanc.
