  • Dried fruit, sous bois, forest floor, graphite and earth. Dark fruit driven palate but quite rustic.

  • From magnum. Now we are talking. This is a beast, with a bright ruby color and a garnet rim. Powerful and perfumed nose of red fruit, just a hint of sous-bois. Opulent and open on the palate, balanced with a great acidity. Persists for a long time in the mouth. This is excellent and worth your attention.

  • This wine is slowly starting to reach maturity although it’s still quite youthful but what a glorious Burgundy it’s become! There is a rich concentration of spicy cherry fruit and a spectacular floral/mineral lift that makes the wine just soar on the palate. There is still plenty of structure here but the velvety fruit is so complex and delicious and the mouthfeel is layered but also crunchy. The finish sports beautiful notes of minerals, sweet earth and violets. The proverbial "iron fist in a velvet glove." Simply stunning tonight and perhaps even some upside with more bottle age. Wow! 97+

  • The weight of a grand cru wine without any of the charm. Dark rather than red fruit.

  • Curious showing. Astonishingly youthful, tightly wound, and ungiving. Hard to believe this is nearly 30-years-old. Dense, tight, powerful. Freddy needs a minute to stretch his legs here. Visibly dark and concentrated in the glass even. Gives up a little more on the nose towards the end of the night but not much improvement. NR - High potential I guess but showing 90-91 now.

(Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny) Dark red garnet color with thin, clear meniscus; gorgeous, perfumey, ripe cherry and dark cherry nose that went through several changes during the course of our Sunday lunch, eventually settling on mainly a rosehips nose; very tasty, tangy, tart and sappy black cherry palate with good body and acidity and rose notes appearing toward the medium-plus finish 98+ pts. (nicely paired with our 2nd course: poulet jaune roast with citron confit and leeks, served with oyster mushrooms gravy in a white wine sauce)
