Ein toller Barolo, der nach wie vor in voller Kraft steht. Die Farbe geht inzwischen etwas ins Braun. Das Aroma aber nach wie vor sofort präsent, insbesondere Beeren mit Vanille und Röstaromen. Im Mund weich, harmonisch, sehr angenehm mit einem tollen Abgang.

A swathe of European 2003s (Chicago, IL): Perhaps my objection to this wine is that it gives itself away much too easily. I prefer to grapple with my Barolos. There's a light touch of toast on the nose, but the palate is just super silky. Very pleasing red fruit, this wine is extremely pliant and soft. Not my style of Barolo, but I'll admit it did make for some pleasurable drinking, with its ripe red fruit and missing tannins. Hardly a challenging wine, I got bored of it pretty quickly.

This wine, for now, is in two dimensions. The outer sphere is of a still young and quite present tannin and in the center rather nice dark berries starting to let the secondary elements appear or the first elements disappear... a bit pity as I don't think the harsh tannin will ever be gone and the wine may end up being quite disjointed in a while. It may still be very good with a hearty piece of lamb. Cheers
