Not as impressive as the other early vintages I’ve been lucky enough to taste. Orange marmalade, franzipan, butterscotch, vanilla, length for days and some grapefruit as it opens up

Gave it a hour decant, as with recently tried 03, 04, and 05 vintages which required it. Descriptors are a little restrained and muted in comparison. As per reviewer’s above note, orange, marmalade, vanilla and butterscotch. Decent length, but the least favourite of the older vintages so far.

Coravin’d straight to glass. Quite golden. Just a pretty, pretty, gentle wine. Soft evolved mouth feel and easy light finish. Gentle melons, stone fruit and white flowers and just a little lime acid on finish. Probably past peak but nothing out of place. Perhaps lacking a little depth but this might have come with more time in the glass. Enjoyable.

Phil's Coravin exploration (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. medium minus intensity aromas are a little dusty, slight lemon, butter, slightly meaty notes. Medium plus intensity acidity, muted flavours are a little green, a touch of contrary alcohol warmth. Bitter on the finish with a touch of oatmeal.

Quay lunch (Quay): Deep yellow. Butter, toast and white nectarine aromatics and palate, medium bodied with fine acid spine and length. Just the right amount of oak seasoning, any more would have overburdened the wine. Likely not much more to be gained from further cellaring.
