This bottle is possibly one of the best Mount Mary Chardonnay that I have had in long time. Quite "special"! Possibly from a low base of expectation.
Still a youth bright yellow / green, match struck, white flowers and nectarine dominated the aroma. Body is beautifully taunt, intense with apple, a hint of citrus and certainly some hazelnut and cashew. Well balanced and very intense acidity that provides a beautiful backbone. Lovely lime and mineral finish.
Drink now to 4+ years.

2011 was a very wet year in Victoria, and as a result the wine is very lean compared to other Mount Mary vintages. Still a great chard, but don't expect anything too buttery from this vintage. Drink up I reckon - and serve in a big glass to get as much from the wine as possible.

Generous and expressive with ripe orchard fruits, some cashew and a suggestion of fig. It is voluminous and intense, loaded with fruit and finishing with an uptick of fresh acidity.

Again very fresh and youthful, yet good length. Lemon, peach, melon on the palate. The oak is nicely refined and tightly integrated to the fruit. Delicious and with a few years ahead of it.
