Dark, inky, concentrated. Mature fruit but not much of secondary/tertiary aromas. At time of posting CT says this is past peak (to 2019) but I would say this is not even peaking yet. Craves food. Unsure I would rebuy this seeing how it’s such a cellar project, happy to have tried it though.

Still so, so dark at 18 years of age - a slight redness at the rim, but inky-dark otherwise. Minty, truffley and quite aggressive on the nose, like a washed-rind cheese (but definitely not a flawed wine - this was delicious and fresh at the same time). Tremendous concentration on the palate, with a dark core full of beef gravy, grain mustard and graphite that gradually unfurled to reveal hints of blackberry and charcoal biscuit. Incredible stuff.

Very fruity and powerful when opened with a strong minty flavor. After a decant it calmed down but became a bit closed. After 2 hours alot of complex notes came through. Nice ride. Both red and black fruits, Pretty strong drying tannins, leather, mint, licorice. Really quite complex and was quite fascinating once it had time open. This has many years left.

This bottle tastes fully mature and it’s delicious with a thick, silky texture and wonderful flavors of licorice, dark berries and fresh minerals. It’s lost some power and intensity at this point replaced with grace and complexity. The finish is open and quite complex with notes of dark spices and smoky minerals. Really world-clas juice with age. Off the list at Crabtree Kittle House.

From half bottle. No extensive notes but this was a true delight and very expressive from the get-go.
