This is such a savory and soulful rendition of Barbera. It feels like someone grew it in a garden. There is a leathery edge to the fruit and savory herbs as well. The fruit is like dark plumbs and mulberry. This works so well at the table for us. The acidity of Barbera and the savory quality of the wine just meld with simple Italian inspired cooking. Good to go now, but I think this will improve over the next few years. One bottle wasn't enough, so we had to open another. I think 1 liter would be the perfect format for two.

Structured, savory Barbera with as much non-fruit as fruit, if that makes sense. I think some short term cellaring will do it well. If it starts showing a bit more fruit, it'll be exceptional.

Elio Sandri Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Riedel Vinum Pinot Clear, deep ruby color. Deep nose, dark fruit, tobacco, tar, rose petals. On the palate beautiful high acidity, deep red and dark fruit (black cherries), spices, tobacco leaves, floral notes. Precise and juicy. Variety specific rather lower tannin, but with a good structure and texture. Medium+ length, very fruity. Beautiful wine with some potential. Very good PQR 91-92

Really crowd pleaser of a wine and it sure is sumptuous. If I have any criticism it’s the 15% alcohol. The older I get the more I look for a lower alcohol content. Otherwise- this is a beauty!

Distinct, very Barbera-like bright red fruit and good acidity, hint of minerals, clean and pure, no oxygen. Medium bodied. Shows slight ripeness of the vintage, hence a bit sweet mouthfeel and aftertaste. Deceptively high alcohol masked by the ample fruit. A serious and tasty Barbera from an up and coming producer, which is beginning to be discovered not only by the hip inner circle but also the wider audience.
