Wow, this showed well. This seemingly impossible mix of grace and elegance with deeply pitched and powerful fruit. Complex aromas, perfectly balanced, silky mouth feel, never for a moment loses the sense of place. A beautiful wine.

red earthy fruit, after an hour opens with complex and lovely aromatics and although the win is meaty and powerful, there is refreshing acidity and it feels balanced. Still...this bottle was not entirely moving, it felt a little lacking in structure.

still young - takes a while to express itself, but when it does it's absolutely compelling, with a nose of bright red fruit that has taken a somewhat secondary stewed character, orange peel, and earth. this is an elegant wine, something that is rare in the wines from this hot climate. wispy and lacy in character, yet with such intensity and depth of flavor. a true pleasure.

wow - this really showed beautifully. ripe fruit is still almost primary, heady lavendar and provence herbs, great depth of aroma. the acidity is strong - this wine has miles to go. perhaps the most compelling component of this wine is texture - absolute silk. and this is a rustic country blend! gorgeous wine, and absolutely of a place.

(Chateau Simone Rouge) The secret will never be out about Palette and I am all the more happy for it. The wine is still a relative value and is absolutely delicious. A blend of 40% Grenache, 20% Mouvedre, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Black Muscat PG, Castet, Manosquin, Brun-Fourca, and Cabernet. Some wild stuff in there. The wine had a beguiling nose of red currants, lavender, leather, dried red roses, some tea spice and intense stony minerality. The palate had incredible lift and freshness die to its wonderful cleansing acidity. The fruit was briary and fresh with great complexity and intense minerality on the palate. Outstanding length and wonderfully food friendly wine with loads of character.
