Andrew Edmunds (Andrew Edmunds, London): Very bright, red fruited, sings along nicely but also light and with an elegance in its "youth" and this is probably just entering its proper drinking window . Still very much on the fruit, very little earthy or secondary feel but still very much the elegant wine expected and paid for. Quite juicy , rose feel along with the red fruit mix and we wonder if there was a lot of whole bunch fermentation here. In any case a very special bottle and given more time this would rise even more. 93 for now but lots of upside.

Some Birthday wines (St. Anselm DC): Juicy and plump, this boasts lots of ripe cherries and strawberries on a dusty frame with lively acidity. The fruit is pure and lively, and leads the way, but there's also plenty of roses, earthy and iron notes. Delicious.

A lifted, red-fruited nose. Very savoury in the mouth - long, juicy and satisfying. The 06 tannins are resolving but the wine still has lots of structure and seems likely to go on for a while yet.

11/12. Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Aromatic, smoky dark cherry fruit, soil. Nice purity, showing reasonable development now. Medium bodied, dark cherry, smoke, soil - cool dark fruit - lovely vibrant acids, very decent length finish with just a touch of sandiness towards the end. Smokier, earthier perhaps even a touch darker fruited than previously, the slight sandiness on the finish makes me wonder whether it may be just starting to dry out. Still very good indeed though.

Red cherry hard candy and blueberries with just a hint of earthiness and spice. Really pure. Smooth tannin with a high acid finish. Very nice.
