  1991 Clos Mogador Priorat (Spain, Catalunya, Priorat) (Spanje, Catalunya, Priorat) Kleur: Diep robijnrood, bruin randje. Aroma / bouquet: Uitgesproken en complex, mooie rijpe houttonen, vanille. Beetje jammig zwart fruit, bramen en zwarte bes, gronderig / natte bladeren. Smaak / Afdronk: Mooi vol, ietsje 'groenig', veel materie, iets tè krachtige zuren, tannines behoorlijk aanwezig en zelfs nog drogend. Enorme lengte. Algemeen / potentieel: In 1991 ontdekte Parker Priorat, en andersom. WA 92 lijkt mij te optimistisch, of vooral een kwestie van geschiedenis. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 12 + Algemeen / potentieel: 7 = 85/100

  Dark ruby red with some fading around the rim, but a lot less than I expected. Sweet and pleasant aromas of resins, red wild fruits, licorice and fennel. Full body with solid concentration, loaded with flavors of ripe grapes, pepper, licorice, chocolate and wild fruits. Very good balance, with soft and integrated tannins, perfect level of acidity and nice toasted oak, that is really well integrated within the flavors offered. Big hefty finish with a good slick aftertaste. Overall I am very pleased with this wine, as it’s the first fully matured Clos Mogador that is very good at a late age in my opinion. Lovely structure and feel, with tasty flavors. Feels as if it could caller very nicely for at least four more years, though I believe it will not improve. So far, out of the later vintages of this wine, this one is the winner and a very good effort, and one of the best Mogador’s I have had so far. With that said, I still feel that Mogador does shine better at an early age
