Late Dec 2019: rubin red color; intense, seductive bouquet of all kinds of red berries, plus herbs and violets; round on the palate accompanied with a nice, fresh acidity; tannic; medium finish.
This wine is now mature and offers a very pleasant, excellent taste. Since there is still a good portion of tannins left there even is chance of further improvement in the next 5-7 years. 94/100
A glass was left in bottle and stored in a cool garage (approx. 48 F). Tasted after 24 h: still spot on, even a little bit more seductive than yesterday.
Definitely the best Xmas 2019 wine so far (even “against” some big contenders like Dominus 1992, Cos d’Estournel 2004 and others). 95/100

Early Nov 2010: deep purple red color; intense aromas/flavors of cassis, blackberries, cherries and cedar; surprisingly light/medium body; medium tannins.
The wine while already good approachable is in a reductive phase and likes to play games/tricks. I bet in 6-8 years he’ll metamorphosed into a well-balanced, classic Cote-Rotie red. Have a bottle left in my cellar and will report.

I assume I caught this at a bad time (wishful thinking?). The nose showed smoky oak with vanilla. There is some nice florals somewhere underneath but to find it was very hard work. The palate is ultra short, acidic and thin. A wine totally out of whack. Let's see on day 2. I know that with Tardieu-Laurent things can be difficult sometimes (very oaky), but on song the wines can be very good. Next bottle in a very very long time. Rating is based on drinking now not potential.
On day 2 this was much better and I have raised my note from 78 to 85. The oak was somewhat more restrained and the palate filled up with some nice silky fruit. I would recommend a serious and long decant before drinking.

taste: real good medium/full body with very good tones of black and white pepper, black cherries, and tones of oak show themselves on the back end
overall: The oak detracts from the wine. Not too much depth to it either as it comes off more as a very good st joseph and doesn't really have that extra layer of depth you normally get from cote rotie

100% Syrah. Relatively clean style but seems very sleep at the moment (ie closed and empty?) Needs time.

Fine Vines Fall Grand Tasting (OneSixtyBlue, Chicago IL): nose: more forward and modern nose of black cherries, dark floral tones, with tones of black and white pepper. Good depth with a plushness to it as well
