Italians at Mario's Osteria (Mario's Osteria): A bit port-like but still very much alive. Sweet nose with red fruit. Really nice mouthfeel in mid palate. Could have guessed Amarone if blind. Finished with some mocha.

Old note from 1994 19/20 Little sign of aging. Dominated by super ripe fruit and spices. Also tobacco, spices and barrel element. Full bidied wine chewy, high extract. plenty of fruit. Tertiary aromas starting to emerge. Great with wild boar.

5 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.
Seaweed like minerality. Smoke and white spices.
Superbly mineral on palate. A lot of finesse and acidity. Just the right maturity to enjoy now.
94 points easy.
Second round: clearly more about secondary notes than the fruits now.

Vile. Infested with something that wasn't supposed to be there.

Well-built, firm structure, notes of coffee, spices and bacon, but the fruit is overripe and the wine comes across as tired and drying. Off bottle?
