Four hour decant. Ripe, bright black fruits with just a touch of sweetness and a good dash of roast meats to balance things out. Purity is the star here, with very subtle complexity held together by lovely acid and tannic structure.

[CLC Group Dinner at de Montrose, Melbourne; magnum] Dark color, purple shade. Blackberry bouquet with notes of cassis, licorice, chocolate, leather, spice & fully absorbed oak. Full, deep, intense, quite concentrated & lush black fruit flavors, perfectly integrated with fair amount of ripe tannins, powdery extracts & fine acidity; nicely structured & elegantly balanced. Long smooth & supple finish.

Match - pasta with spicy italian sausage. Dark ruby colour, spicy nose. Med tannin, low acid, med-long spicy finish, Nose of pepper, ripe cherry, vanilla, classic Aussie shiraz. Not really our style. Decent wine, took a while to grow on me, since it is very different style than what we usually drink... not really our style though.
