Drouhin-Laroze Bonnes Mares 2007 Nose of black fruit, dried raisins, anise, earth, spice. Aromatic. Palate was quite open with black fruit, raisins, dried fruit, powerful and rounded with some earthy notes. Powerful and elegant, tannins rounded off. Ready to drink now. 95/100

The one with MSD + Bonnes Mares (Chapter 1 Wine Bar): This was nicely developed today and ready to drink. Comte, sois boi, grapefruit and plums dominate the bouquet along with oddly enough, corn? Palate showed cloves, manuka honey, spices and ferrous iron whiffs. Slighty sweet on the finish with strawberry liquor and kirsch with silky tannins. A lovely drink but not sure if there is upside to holding this longer.

Morey Saint Denis & Bonne Mares: Performing well now. Felt is drinking at its peak. Pronounced nose intensity with notes of flora, toast, red fruits, earth. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Long finish. Drink now. Not sure if it can be improved.

Slow-ox for 90 minutes then splash decant. Darker fruit, more brooding. Some spice and black currant on the nose. A hint of dried roses. Decent length. Primary and secondary flavors equally there. Seemed and looked older than expected but these 07s seem to be at or near their peak from most of my experiences. Gets a touch bony and hollow after 45 minutes and then picked up some depth and complexity later on. It has some rusticity to it and a bit of wood tannin grip on the finish. Nothing amazing, but not bad. Didn't have GC depth. Would have guessed middle of the road 1er Cru from an average producer. It is fine, but not a notable Bonnes Mares by any stretch.

Fell a bit short of expectations for a GC and should be drunk now.
