  • Aged garnet in color. Red fruit notes on the shy nose but mostly secondary. Carnal and gamy. Savory palate, mineral, almost salty. Acid is medium on the entrance but more noticeable on the finish along with some bitterness. Enjoyable bottle but it must have seen better days.
    Pairing: Duck [B-]

  • This wine is very nice indeed, and displays all the classic characters of an aged red Burgundy. Aromas predominantly secondary, with a strong hint of cocoa and sweet, dried berries. Beautiful perfume. It goes a little bit wrong with the finish, which is short and a touch harsh. If you've got any bottles drink them soon, and decant them to get rid of the sediment, which is quite substantial.

  • Decanted. Less sweet and aromatic than the last one just two weeks ago. Howover, some meatty wine, wet earth inside that bottle but not the best example from Gevrey-Chambertin. Maybe its better moment passed away.

  • What a bottle! Perfectly ripe wine, a wonderful colour (a real fact), vigorous but velvety, full of ashes, meaty and spiced. You can find some rum inside: maybe "Mount Gay" (Barbados) or "Severine" (Guadaloupe) or even "Bacardi Spice" (Puerto Rico). Exotic, almost asian are adjetives to define it. Despite it is not more than a villages wine, a great Chambertin. A nice terroir expression indeed!. One more bottle still laying down.
