Golden but not too dark. Straw, lanolin, ripe tropical fruit, honeysuckle. Honeyed soft plump nicely aged stone fruits and a hint of tropical. Crushed herbal notes and soft spice add complexity but don’t dominate. Smooth and very nicely balanced, long even palate. Soft from gentle aging, but still drinking well.

The best bottle out of the three. Beautiful nose with melon fruit, peach, beewax, honey and pear. Palate was balanced and precise with laser focus acidity. Young and fresh. Nice. 92-93

Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Very similar to another bottle a few days ago go (probably from the same case). Very similar, seemingly slightly less ripe and concentrated, while with just as good structure and length.

Same batch, bottle 2. Nose has mint, basil leaf, and little bit of yellow fruit. The palate is more open than the nose but its less explosive and ripe versus the half bottle I had few months ago. Seems like it still has a long way to go for 750ml. Still very fresh. 91 today with upside.

Acker Merrall Pre-Auction Tasting (Le Cirque - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Riper vs 1983 but also less energetic, so slighter shorter and less interesting. Still nicely fresh.
