Nose: Autumn leaves, soil, sweet dark raspberry, dried lilac
Palate: A little savory cranberry tang hits you up front. The fruit is a little thin on the follow, overshadowed by a vibrant red acidity under a cloak of very dark soil and subtle herbs. In balance and not disjointed.
Structure: Rich mouthfeel that is rich and dense without crossing into creaminess. Fine and rounded tannins with black coffee overtones and notes of dried red fruit. Medium+ length on the finish.
I can see 92-94 for the wine. For me, I wonder if I would have enjoyed this more 5YRs ago with slightly more fruit on the palate, but I am not so experienced to know. Would buy more if priced right, but not one for me to chase.

Outstanding from the first whiff on the nose. This is why we age wine. Still youthful, rich, fruit that shows tremendous balance between palate-staining ripe red currant, and BlackBerry and soil tones. Some distant chalky minerality comes through on the backside. Then subtle notes of Flora, leather, balsamic and Evergreen. Lots of depth here. Minimal tannins, compared to my last bottle which had some coarseness on the tail end. Shows good muscle without sacrificing grace and elegance.
Excellent - Drinking wonderfully

Supple red fruits with an overlying back fruit/ violet tone. Very "'93". Attractive secondary notes of sous bois, leather, autumn leaves, and cardamon; old burgundy. Very elegant, despite the fruit still having a robust personality; its still showing signs of its former ripeness but is no longer rich or weighty. Very tannic and grippy on the backend, borderline coarse. I doubt this will ever fully shed all these tannins. Classic cazetieres.
Very Good - Drink now or hold This shows no signs of decline though I don't really see additional aging resolving any more tannins.

Wonderful wine. Incredible fruit purity on both the nose and palate. There is sweet fruit maturity and a wonderful earthy quality. This wine has super balance made in a classic no make-up style. Love it. Surpassed expectations. (93)

04/07 - drunk with Tim with grilled lambchops, ramps, artichokes, and roasted asparagus. Bit on the young side, great nose, very well-balanced, excellent wine and great match with the lamb (N.Z. lamb, bit on gamey side).
